Configuring Upload and Download Notifications for Other Users
If you are a SmartVault Administrator or Vault Manager, you can specify notification settings for other users, clients, and guests who have access to a vault or folder.
Note: You cannot specify notification settings for users when you share a vault using the Manage Group Members option. However, once you share a vault with a user using the Manage Group Members option, you can then go into the vault and specify notification settings for the root of the vault or individual folders in the vault using the steps provided in this topic. For more information, about sharing a vault using the Manage Group Members option, see “Sharing Vaults Using the Manage Group Members Option” .

To configure upload and download notifications for other users:
1. Sign in to the SmartVault portal. For more information, see “Signing In to the SmartVault Portal” .
2. If you are in the Advanced view, browse to and select the vault or folder you want to configure notification settings for in the left tree pane.
3. If you are in the Files and Folders view, browse to and select the vault or folder that you want to configure notification settings for.
4. Under Access and Notification Settings, click Edit.
5. If you want a user to receive a notification when a document is uploaded, select the Upload Notification check box for the user.
6. If you want a user to receive a notification when a document is downloaded, select the Download Notification check box for the user.
7. If you want to apply the notification settings specified for the user to only this folder, under Apply changes to, select This folder only from the drop-down list.
8. If you want to apply the notification settings specified for the user to not only the selected folder but also to all subfolders beneath this folder that the user has access to, under Apply changes to, select This folder and to all subfolders from the drop-down list.
9. If you want to apply the notification settings as well as the access settings specified for the folder to all users with access to subfolders beneath this folder, select This folder and make all subfolder access settings exactly like these from the drop-down list.
Note: This setting will replace both the access and notification settings for all users with access to any subfolders below this folder with the settings specified for this folder.
10. Click Save Settings.
