Manually Creating SmartVault Inbox Profiles for Fujitsu ScanSnap Scanners
If you are using a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner and you want to scan documents into the SmartVault Inbox, you must create a SmartVault Inbox profile for your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner before you can scan documents directly into folders on your SmartVault portal.
To create a SmartVault Inbox profile on a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner:
1. Install the SmartVault Desktop software. The SmartVault Desktop software contains a custom SmartVault Inbox ScanSnap profile that you will use to create a SmartVault Inbox profile for your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner. For more information about installing the SmartVault Desktop software, see
“Understanding and Installing the SmartVault Desktop Software” .
2. Make sure your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner is connected to your local computer and turned on.
3. Verify that the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner and software is installed and working correctly.
– If you see the ScanSnap icon in your system tray, the ScanSnap software is installed. The following image shows how the ScanSnap software icon displays when properly installed.

– If you do not see a ScanSnap icon in your system tray, or if the icon has a red circle with a slash symbol, consult your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner documentation and verify your Fujitsu ScanSnap installation and configuration.
4. If you have a ScanSnap S300, ScanSnap S500, or ScanSnap S510 series scanner, disable the ScanSnap Quick Menu by completing the following steps:
a. In the system tray, right-click the ScanSnap icon and verify that the Use Quick Menu option does not have a check mark next to it.
The following image shows the list of options ScanSnap displays, including the location of the Use Quick Menu option.
b. If the ScanSnap icon in the system tray does have a check mark in front of it, click the Use Quick Menu option to remove the check mark.
5. If you have a ScanSnap S1100, S1300, or S1500 series scanner, open ScanSnap Manager and disable the ScanSnap Quick menu by completing the following steps:
c. In the system tray, double-click the ScanSnap icon to display the ScanSnap configuration window.
d. Clear the Use Quick Menu check box.

6. Double-click the Fujitsu ScanSnap icon in your system tray to open Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager.
7. On the Application tab, click Add or Remove.
8. Click Add.
9. Click Browse.
10. In the Start Menu > Programs folder structure on your local computer, browse to and select the SmartVault folder, and then click Open.
11. Select the Fujitsu ScanSnap Profile Applications folder, and then click Open.
12. Select SmartVault Inbox App for ScanSnap, and then click Open.
13. In the Application Name field, type SmartVault Inbox, and then click OK.
14. Click Close.
15. If you are using a ScanSnap S300, S500, or S510 scanner, click Add Profile.
16. If you are using a ScanSnap S1100, S1300 or S1500 scanner, under Profile, click Add Profile.
17. In the New profile name field, type SmartVault Inbox, and then click OK.
18. Under Application, select SmartVault Inbox from the drop-down list, and then click OK and Yes to save your changes.
19. In your system tray, left-click the ScanSnap icon, verify that SmartVault Inbox displays in the list of profiles, and then click the SmartVault Inbox icon to make it the active profile.
After you have created a SmartVault Inbox profile on your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner, you can begin using your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner to scan documents directly into folders on the SmartVault portal using the SmartVault Inbox. For more information, see
