Exporting Client Subfolder Templates to Microsoft Excel
After you create your client subfolder template in Windows Explorer on your local computer, export your client subfolder template to Microsoft Excel.
Note: For more information about create a client subfolder template, see “Creating Client Subfolder Templates” .
To export a client subfolder template to Microsoft Excel:
1. Open a Windows command prompt by completing the following steps:
a. If you are running Windows XP, click Start > Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER on your computer keyboard.
b. If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Start, in the Search field type cmd and then press ENTER on your computer keyboard.
2. In the Windows command prompt, type the following command and then press ENTER on you keyboard to go to the Client folder location:
cd C:\MyContacts\Clients
3. In the Windows command prompt, type the following string, and then press ENTER on you keyboard:
Dir /S /B /AD > C:\MyContacts\Clients\FolderList.xls
Microsoft Windows creates the FolderList.xls file in the C:\MyContacts\Clients folder.
After you create the FolderList.xls file, use the FolderList.xls file to create a client subfolder template batch file. The client subfolder template batch file will quickly create your subfolder template structure under each client folder.
