Resizing Logos
When you custom brand your SmartVault portal, the logos you use for your portal header, or masthead, and your email header must be .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .tif, or .tiff files, and cannot be larger than 240 pixels in width or 60 pixels in height.
If your logo is larger than 240 pixels in width or 60 pixels in height, you must resize your logo.
If you already have a graphics program that allows you to resize graphics, use your graphics program to resize your logo. For more information about how to resize your logo using your graphics program, see the documentation for your graphics program.
If you don’t already have a graphics program you can use to resize your logo and you are running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, you can use a free, open-source graphics tool called GIMP to quickly and easily resize your logo.
To resize your logo using GIMP:
1. If you do not already have GIMP installed, complete the following steps:
a. Go to www.gimp.org.
b. Click Download.
c. Click the download link for the latest version of GIMP.
d. Click Run, and then click Run again.
e. If you are running Windows 7, click Yes.
f. Review the welcome window, and then click Next.
g. Review the license agreement, and then click Next.
h. Click Install now.
i. On the finish window, ensure the Launch GIMP check box is selected, and then click Finish.
GIMP opens automatically after the installation process completes.
Note: It may take GIMP one or two minutes to open the first time.
2. If you already have GIMP installed, open GIMP.
3. On the File menu, click Open.
4. Browse to and select the logo you want to resize, and then click Open again.
5. On the Image menu, click Scale Image.
6. In the Image Size area, make sure pixels is selected on the drop-down list.
7. In the Width or Height field, type a new value in pixels for the image.
For example, since logos must be no larger than 240 pixels in width or 60 pixels in height, if your logo is 66 pixels in height, in the Height field type 60 to resize your logo to the appropriate height.
8. Click Scale.
9. On the File menu, click Save As, specify a new name for the logo, and then click Save.
