The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 must be installed on the computer where you install the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.
If you do not already have the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed on your computer, when you install the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook automatically installs the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 for you.

Administrator permissions on the computer where the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook is installed
|
You must have Administrator permissions on the computer where you want to install the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook. Based on the security settings configured for the computer, you may be prompted to provide the Administrator password for the computer before you are allowed to install the plug-in.

Updated anti-virus software
|
Ensure your anti-virus software is up-to-date before you install the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.
If your anti-virus software is not up to date, you can still use the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook. However, the following Microsoft Outlook error message will display when your anti-virus software is out-of-date each time you use the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook:
![]() You can temporarily work around this issue by selecting the Allow access for check box, selecting a time period from the drop-down box, and then clicking Allow.
This allows you to use the SmartVault Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook during the specified time period without displaying additional warning messages. For more information, see SmartVault Knowledge Base article KB318, available at http://support.smartvault.com/kb318.
