Specifying Settings for Your Custom-Branded Portal
Custom branding your SmartVault portal allows you to quickly and easily extend your company brand to your SmartVault portal. With SmartVault, you can custom brand the following items:
Subdomain used for your portal (for example, CompanyName.smartvault.com).
Sign In page look and feel, including Sign In page background color, Sign In page header and body text, and custom colors for the text and links displayed on your Sign In page.
Portal look and feel, including a logo and background color for your portal header, or masthead. The portal header is the header section that displays on all of the pages of the web portal, including on the Sign In page. You can also specify custom colors for text and links displayed in the portal header and for navigation links.
Email look and feel for the auto-generated emails SmartVault sends out when you share vaults and folders with other users, clients, and guests. You can specify an email header logo and the email closing text, or signature, you want to use.
Customizing your portal branding is easy. However, it is helpful if you complete the following tasks before you begin:
Decide what you want to use for your subdomain. For more information, see “Understanding Subdomains” .
Make sure that you have the logo you want to use for your portal header and sign-in page, as well as the logo you want to use for your email header.
You can use the same logo for both your portal header and your email header, or you can use different logos for your headers. Most users choose to use the same logo for both headers.
The logos you use must be .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .tif, or .tiff files, and cannot be larger than 240 pixels in width or 60 pixels in height. For more information about how to verify your logo size or resize a logo, see “Verifying Logo Sizes” and “Resizing Logos” .
Your logos should be saved in a location you can easily browse to from the SmartVault portal, such as in a folder on your local computer or on a network drive.
To custom-brand your portal:
1. Sign in to the SmartVault portal. For more information, see “Signing In to the SmartVault Portal” .
2. In the Advanced view, in the left tree pane, select your account.
Note: If you are a member of more than one account, select the account you want to custom brand.
3. In the right task pane, click Customize Branding.
Note: If you do not see the Customize Branding link, make sure that you have selected an account in the left tree pane. The Customize Branding link will not display in the right task pane until you select an account in the left tree pane. If, after you select an account, you still do not see the Customize Branding in the right task pane, your user ID may not be a member of the SmartVault Administrators group. Only members of the SmartVault Administrators group can custom-brand an account.
4. Specify a subdomain for you portal. For more information about subdomains, see “Understanding Subdomains” .
5. Specify settings for your Sign In page.
Note: Do not specify white as the background color for your sign in page. The sign in box displays against a web page with a white background. If you specify white as the background color for your sign in page, you will not be able to see the sign in page box due to the white background used by the web page on which the sign in box displays.
6. Specify settings for your portal header, or masthead. Your portal header, or masthead, is the header section that displays on all the pages of the web portal, including on the Sign In page.
Note: Ensure that you specify contrasting colors for your portal masthead color and masthead text and link colors. For example, if you specify white as your portal masthead background color, and then you also specify white as for your masthead text and link colors, you will not be able to see the masthead text and links in your portal.
7. Specify settings for your navigation links.
Note: Do not specify white as the color for your navigation links. The navigation links display in the navigation pane on a white background. If you specify white as the color for your navigation links, you will not be able to see the navigation links due to the white background used in the navigation pane.
8. Specify settings to customize the notification emails that SmartVault automatically sends out from your SmartVault account.
9. Click Save.
