Specifying Your Time Zone
Specify your time zone in the SmartVault portal when you first start using SmartVault.
By default, SmartVault Desktop software components such as the SmartVault Drive, the SmartVault Toolbar, and the SmartVault Inbox use the time zone specified for your local computer. However, by default the SmartVault portal uses (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) as its default time zone. Specify your time zone in the SmartVault portal so that document create and modify dates and times display consistently between the SmartVault portal, your SmartVault Drive, the SmartVault Inbox, and the SmartVault Toolbar.
By default, the SmartVault Drive uses the time zone specified for your local computer. However, by default the SmartVault portal uses (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) as its default time zone. Specify your time zone in the SmartVault portal so that document create and modify dates and times display consistently between the SmartVault portal, your SmartVault Drive.
 
To specify your time zone:
1. Sign in to the SmartVault portal. For more information, see “Signing In to the SmartVault Portal” .
2. In the portal header, or masthead, click My Info.
3. In the Time Zone field, select your time zone from the drop-down list, and then click Save Changes.
Note: SmartVault Desktop software components, such as the SmartVault Inbox and SmartVault Toolbar, use the time zone settings specified on your local computer when displaying document create and modify dates and times. If you change the time zone setting on your local computer while any SmartVault Desktop components are open, you must close and then reopen the component in order to have document create and modify dates display using the updated time zone setting specified for your local computer.
