Upgrading Your Account
If you are a SmartVault Administrator, you can upgrade your account in the SmartVault portal.
For example, you can upgrade a Lite plan to a Team plan, or a Team plan to a Professional plan in just a few clicks.
You can also add user and client licenses and add storage to your plan.
If you are on a monthly billing cycle, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time, or change your billing cycle from Monthly to Annual at any time.
If you are on an annual billing cycle, consider the following items:
You can upgrade your plan at any time. However, you cannot change your annual billing cycle from Annual to Monthly or downgrade your plan until you are on your last month of your annual billing cycle.
When you upgrade your annual plan, SmartVault automatically generates a pro-rated credit for the unused portion of your existing annual plan. Then SmartVault rebills you a pro-rated rate for your new plan for the remainder of your new plan’s term, minus the credit you receive for the unused portion of your old annual plan.
For example, if you upgrade your Team annual plan to a Pro annual plan, SmartVault generates a pro-rated credit for the unused portion of your Team annual plan, then rebills you a pro-rated rate for the remaining time on your new Pro annual plan minus the credit you received for the unused portion of your old Team plan.
When you upgrade your annual plan during your annual plan term, you are invoiced immediately after you click Save to upgrade your plan. For example, if you upgrade a Team plan to a Pro plan, you are invoiced the additional amount you owe for the year for the Pro plan immediately.
You can upgrade your plan and then downgrade, or remove, extra user licenses as long as your total full user license count does not decrease. For example, assume you have a Team plan (which includes three full access users) plus an additional two full access users that you purchased, for a total of five users. You can upgrade to Professional plan (which includes five full access users) and drop, or downgrade your two additional licenses to keep your total license count at five. However, if you want to downgrade your number of users when upgrading your plan, you must do this in a single transaction. You cannot first upgrade your Professional plan, save your changes, and then go back and try and remove your additional users you no longer need.
