Uploading Documents Using the SmartVault Drive
The SmartVault Drive allows you to create folders and to browse, upload, and download documents in a familiar Windows Explorer or Mac Finder interface. The SmartVault Drive behaves just like any other network drive on your computer, allowing you to create and manage folders and build a folder hierarchy based on your business needs.
After you map a SmartVault Drive on your local computer, you can upload documents into SmartVault by simply copying and pasting, dragging and dropping, or saving documents into your SmartVault Drive folders from the following locations:
• Local drives on your computer
• Your computer desktop
• An Outlook message or attachment
• A network drive
• An application
If you already have a folder hierarchy on your local computer that works for you, just use the SmartVault Drive mapping functionality to map multiple folders or an entire drive to SmartVault.
You can also use the SmartVault Drive to create a folder template or hierarchy to use to store documents in your portal. As you create your folder template or hierarchy using the SmartVault Drive and a familiar Windows Explorer or Mac Finder interface, your folder structure is automatically replicated on your portal.
Note: The largest document that can be uploaded using the SmartVault Inbox is 2GB.
If you need to upload a document larger than 2GB, contact SmartVault Support. For more information about contacting SmartVault Support, go to
