Making Changes to PDF Files in the Connected Desktop

With SmartVault Connected Desktop, you can make changes to the PDF file(s) before sending them to your clients. Edit your PDF files to include or exclude annotations, remove pages, or change a page's orientation.

Including or Excluding PDF Annotations

You can include or exclude existing annotations in the PDF file. Annotations are comments or notes already in the PDF document.

To include/exclude annotations:

  1. In the Connected Desktop, locate and select the file(s) you want to send.
  2. Right-click the file(s) and select Send to > Mail Recipient.
  3. In Email-Files - SmartVault, the Annotations checkbox for the PDF file(s) is selected by default. To exclude the annotations, clear the checkbox for the PDF file you want to send without annotations.
  4. Click Send.

Removing Pages from the PDF

To remove pages from the PDF file:

  1. In the Connected Desktop, locate and select the file(s) you want to send.
  2. Right-click the file(s) and select Send to > Mail Recipient.
  3. In Email-Files - SmartVault, click Edit for the PDF from which you want to remove pages.
  4. Select the checkbox for the pages you want to keep in the PDF file and clear the checkbox for the pages you want to remove.

      Note

    Press Shift or CTRL to select multiple pages to remove.

  5. Click Apply to save the changes.

Changing a Page's Orientation

To change a page's orientation:

  1. In the Connected Desktop, locate and select the file(s) you want to send.
  2. Right-click the file(s) and select Send to > Mail Recipient.
  3. In Email-Files - SmartVault, click Edit for the PDF file you want to change a page's orientation.
  4. Right-click on the page you want to reorient and select Rotate clockwise.
  5. Click Apply to save your changes.
