Deleting Engagements in SmartVault

You can delete engagements in SmartVault through the SmartVault Portal or the Connected Desktop app.

Engagements go to the Recycle Bin when you delete them. You have 90 days to recover deleted items from the recycle bin. SmartVault removes deleted files from your account after 90 days.


Users need Delete permission to remove engagements. Contact your account administrator if you need to change folder permission settings.

SmartVault Portal SmartVault Connected Desktop

To delete an engagement from the SmartVault portal:

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Select View Files and Folders from the navigation sidebar.
  3. Go to the engagement folder you want to delete.
  4. Click Actions next to the item, then click Delete.
