Sending File Links in SmartVault - Standard Plan

STANDARD PLAN USER

The Send Link feature in SmartVault allows you to quickly share file links with clients through either the SmartVault Portal or the Connected Desktop. This feature simplifies file sharing by emailing a direct link to the selected document.

  Important

Ensure the client is already activated in SmartVault before using the Send Link feature.

Using Send Link in the SmartVault Portal

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Locate the File to Share:
    • Navigate to the client's vault or folder containing the document you want to share using the Send Link feature.
  3. Access the Send Link Option:
    • Click the Settings (gear icon) next to the file.

  4. Select Send Link:
    • Click on the Send Link tab, and choose the client's email address from the list.

  5. Send the Link:
    • Click Send to share the file link with the client. You can also add a personal note if desired.

Using Send Link in the Connected Desktop

  1. Open the SmartVault Connected Desktop.
  2. Locate the File to Share:
    • Navigate to the client's vault and find the file you want to share.
  3. Use the Send Link Option:
    • Right-click on the file, hover over Send to and select Send Link to...

    • Alternatively, click the Send to option in the toolbar and choose Send Link to.
  4. Select Recipient and Send:
    • Select the checkbox next to the client's name and email address. Optionally, you can add a personal message before clicking Send.

What the Client Will See

Once you send the link, your client will receive an email with a secure link to the file. The email may also include any personal message you added. This feature allows the client to access the file directly from their inbox.
