Using the Recycle Bin to Recover Clients, Vaults, Folders, and Files in the Standard Plan

The Recycle Bin in SmartVault allows you to recover deleted clients, vaults, folders, and files for up to 90 days after deletion.

Recovering Folders and Files

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal
  2. Locate the Recycle Bin:
    • Navigate to the client vault that contains the deleted folders or files.
    • Click the Container Properties icon Container properties icon.png.
    • Select the Recycle Bin tab to view deleted files and folders.

  3. Filter by Date (Optional): 
    • In the Deleted within dropdown, select a time range to filter items based on when they were removed. This filter helps you narrow down your search for recently deleted files or folders.
  4. Restore Items:
    • Select the checkbox next to the file or folder you want to recover and click Restore.

  5.  Verify Recovery:
    • Go to the client vault to confirm the recovered files and folders are visible.

Recovering a Client Vault

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Access the Recycle Bin: 
    • In Files and Folders, click the Container Properties icon Container properties icon.png at the account level.

    • Select the Recycle Bin tab.

  3. Restore the Client Vault:
    • Select the checkbox next to the client vault you want to restore and click Restore.
    • Click OK to confirm.
  4. Verify Recovery: 
    • The restored client vault will appear in its original location.
