Auditing document access is crucial for meeting security and compliance guidelines. The SmartVault Activity Log tracks changes to access settings and activities like uploading, downloading, deleting, or modifying folders, vaults, or documents. You can view and export Activity Logs for your account, vaults, and folders.
Notes
- The data returned on-screen will cover only the last 90 days.
- If you select a date range exceeding 90 days, you can export the Activity Log to a CSV file. Click Export to CSV in the dialog to proceed.
- For data older than seven years from the current date, you must create a support request to have the support team produce the CSV file.
Viewing Activity Logs for Your Account
To view a log of all events in your account:
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Access Account Settings:
- Click the cogwheel at the top of the screen.
- Navigate to Account Settings > Manage Account, then click Activity Log.
- Click the cogwheel at the top of the screen.
- Review the Activity Log:
- Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the page to navigate through the Activity Logs.
- Filter the Activity Log:
- To filter the data by a date range, click the Date Filter .
- To filter the data by license type, click .
- Customize or Export the Activity Log:
- To export the activity log, click .
- To select the columns of the activity log you want to view, click .
Viewing Activity Logs for Your Vaults and Folders
To view the Activity Log of a Vault or Folder in the SmartVault Portal:
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Locate the Vault or Folder:
- To view a vault's activity log, navigate to the client vault.
- To view a folder's activity log, locate the client vault and then the specific folder.
- Access the Activity Log:
- Click the Properties icon for the vault or folder:

- Click the Activity Log tab.
- Click the Properties icon for the vault or folder:
- Filter or Export the Activity Log:
- To filter by a date range, click the Filter icon .
- To export the activity log, click the Export to CSV icon .
