How do users sign up for SmartVault?

Users have options to sign up for SmartVault through our website or directly from Lacerte or ProSeries. Users can click on the Setup Custom Document Management option within the Print menu in either Lacerte or ProSeries.

What can you do with Inuit integration with SmartVault?

Users must allow SmartVault to access Intuit's SDK when prompted to integrate with Lacerte and/or ProSeries. SmartVault then allows users to print directly to SmartVault from Lacerte or ProSeries and import clients from Lacerte or ProSeries.

What does the SmartVault Print Driver do?

The SmartVault Print Driver routes printable documents from applications with a print dialog into a user's SmartVault account. The SmartVault Print Driver utilizes a folder named Upload to SmartVault to route documents to SmartVault, and the user must have access to this folder for the Print Driver to function.

Where is the Upload to SmartVault folder that the SmartVault Print Driver uses?

The following file path is used to access the user-specific Upload to SmartVault folder:

You need to delete the PTDesktop.ptc file from the PTDesktop folder depending on the PTDesktop folder's location as specified according to the Lacerte/ProSeries year application.

How do I verify if SmartVault is integrated with Lacerte/ProSeries or enable/disable the integration manually?

From the SmartVault Launchpad, click SmartVault User Settings.

In the window that opens, click on the Extensions tab.

All installed Intuit DMS, Lacerte, or ProSeries applications are listed here. To enable integration, check each application needed. To disable integration, uncheck each application.
You might need to grant access to either Lacerte or ProSeries on opening the application for the first time. Click Grant if a window pops up when opening Lacerte or ProSeries.
