Removing Client Access from the Public Documents Vault

ADMIN USER

You can use this procedure to unshare the Public Documents vault so clients and guests can no longer access it.

  Important Considerations

    • Administrator Permissions–Ensure you have administrator rights in SmartVault to modify vault sharing settings.
    • Impact–Removing client access hides all files and folders in the Public Documents vault from clients and guests. Before proceeding, confirm that no active workflows depend on this vault.

Removing Client Access

  1. Sign In as an Admin User
  2. Locate the Public Documents Vault
    • Select View Files and Folders in the left side bar.

    • Navigate to the Firm container and click Public Documents.

  3. Remove Client Access
    • Click the Actions button Actions_icon.png next to the Public Documents vault and select Properties.

    • Click the View Properties tab and select Don't share this vault with clients.

    • Click Save Settings to apply the update.

After You Save

  • Clients and guests will no longer see the Public Documents vault or its contents.
  • To restore access, repeat these steps and uncheck Don't share this vault with clients.
