Setting the SmartVault PDF Printer as Your Default Printer

Configuration Steps for Windows 8

  1. Right-click on Start and select Control Panel.
  2. In the window that opens, click View devices and printers.
    • If your Control Panel appears differently, click on View by and select Category to switch views.-
    • Or, click on Devices and Printers if available in your current Control Panel view.
  3. Right-click on SmartVault PDF Printer and click Set as default printer.
  4. You've completed the necessary configuration for the SmartVault PDF Printer.

Configuration Steps for Windows 7

  1. Click Start and type Control Panel in the Search programs and files bar.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. In the window that opens, click View devices and printers.
    • If your Control Panel appears differently, click on View by and select Category to switch views.
    • Or, click on Devices and Printers if available in your current Control Panel view.
  4. Right-click on SmartVault PDF Printer and click Set as default printer.
  5. You've completed the necessary configuration for the SmartVault PDF Printer.

Considerations

Use these steps to reassign a different printer to your default printer setting after you've finished using SmartVault to print from Windows File Explorer or your desktop. Right-click on your standard printer instead of the SmartVault PDF Printer when assigning the default setting to your usual setup.
