Overview

Using a Gmail account lets you test how your emails generated through SmartVault's email templates will appear to your clients.

Use the following method to verify that you've made the correct edits to your email templates and the generated email meets your firm's needs.

Testing the User Activation Email Template

1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
2. Right-click on your account and select View Dashboard.
3. Click Clients.
4. Select your test client—this client should be named Client 01Test.
5. Click Invite clients.
6. Click OK.
7. Sign in to your Gmail account to view the email sent to your test client.

Testing the Tax Return Email Template

1. Print out a client copy and the government copy of the return to the test client's vault.
2. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
3. Right-click on your account and select View Dashboard.
4. Click Clients.
5. Select your test client—this client should be named Client 01Test.
6. Choose the info button to open the client's information.
7. Click the Send Tax Returns tab.
8. Click the box to the left to select the client's returns.
9. Click the mail symbol to email the tax returns.
10. Sign in to your Gmail account to view the email sent to your test client.
