Manually Adding a Client ID

Assigning a unique Client ID to each client in your SmartVault account is crucial for organization and efficient management. Client IDs can be added either at creation or afterward, depending on the method used to create the client.

Key Considerations for Client IDs

  • Automatic Assignment via CSV Import: If you import clients using a CSV file, SmartVault will assign a unique ID to each client with no ID. This method is useful for bulk client additions (more than a dozen).
  • Manual Client Creation: When creating a client directly in the SmartVault Portal, you can manually add a Client ID. If you skip this step, the client will not automatically receive an ID.
  • Permanent Assignment: Once assigned, a Client ID is permanent and cannot be altered. Ensure accuracy before saving.
  • Format Requirements: Client IDs must be at least four alphanumeric characters and exclude special ones.

Adding a Client ID in Client Management

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Select Client Management from the left sidebar.
  3. Locate the client you want to update and click on it to open the Client Details page.

  4. On the Client Details page, click Edit.
  5. Enter the desired Client ID. For example, "ABC1" and click Save Client.
