Testing a SmartVault Email Template (UK)

Overview

You can test how your emails generated through SmartVault's email templates will appear to your clients by using a free Gmail account.  

You can create a test client to verify that you've made the correct edits to your email template. 

Creating a Test Client

1. Create a new Gmail account.
2. Sign into the SmartVault Portal.
3. Right-click on your account and select View Dashboard.

4. From the Dashboard, click Clients.

5. Click the Add client icon to add a client.

6. Enter Client in the First Name field and 01Test in the Last Name field.
7. In the Email Address field, enter your Gmail address with +1 added to the end.
Note: For example, if your Gmail address is caseyjones@gmail.com, you type caseyjones+1@gmail.com.
8. Click the Save changes icon to add the test client to your account.

Testing the User Activation Email Template

1. Sign into the SmartVault Portal.
2. Right-click on your account and select View Dashboard.
3. From the Dashboard, click Clients.
4. Select your test client.
Note: This client should be named Client 01Test.
5. Click the Invite Client icon.

6. Click OK.
7. Sign in to your Gmail account to view the email sent to your test client.

Testing the Tax Return Email Template

1. Print out a client copy and the government copy of the return to the test client's vault.
2. Sign into the SmartVault Portal.
3. Right-click on your account and select View Dashboard.
4. From the Dashboard, click Clients.
5. Select your test client.
Note: This client should be named Client 01Test.
6. Click the Info icon to open the clients information.
7. Select the Send Tax Returns tab.
8. Enable the checkbox to the left to select the clients returns.
9. Click the mail symbol to email the tax returns.
10. Sign in to your Gmail account to view the email sent to your test client.
