Viewing Activity Logs

It’s essential to audit who accessed your documents to meet security and compliance guidelines. The SmartVault Activity Log tracks when users change access settings and upload, download, delete, or change a folder, vault, or document. You can view and export Activity Logs for your account and vaults.

The Activity Log is available in all SmartVault plans, except Basic 2016 and Team 2016 

Viewing Account Activity Logs

To see a log of all events in your account:

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Click your initials at the top of your account Home page.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Go to Account Settings>Manage Account, and click Activity Log.
    • To navigate through the Activity Log, use the page numbers and arrows at the bottom of the page.
    • To export the activity log, click Export to CSV .
    • To filter the data by license type and/or date(s), click Edit Filters image7.png.
    • To hide columns of the Activity Log, click Configure .


Viewing Vault Activity Logs

To see the Activity Log of a Vault or Folder in the SmartVault Portal:

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Select View Files and Folders in the navigation menu.

    Find View files and folders in the left navigation menu. See above for details

  3. Go to the vault or folder for which you want to view the Activity Log. Click Actions and select Properties.
  4. Click the Activity Log tab.
    • To export the activity log to a CSV file, click Export to CSV . image4.png
