Using the Upload to SmartVault Folder to Upload Files

Overview

You can use use the Upload to SmartVault folder to save, drag and drop, or copy and paste files directly to SmartVault using the Inbox, the QuickBooks Toolbar, or the Connected Desktop. 

Navigating to the Upload to SmartVault Folder

1. Open Windows File Explorer.
2. Navigate to your Documents folder.

3. Open the Upload to SmartVault folder.

Uploading a File Using the SmartVault Inbox

1. Drag and drop or copy and paste a file into the Upload to SmartVault folder.

2. If you have other SmartVault applications open, click Inbox.
Note: By default, SmartVault prints to the Inbox. 

3. Select the location in SmartVault to save this file and click Upload

Uploading a File Using the SmartVault QuickBooks Toolbar

1. Open QuickBooks.
2. Open the company file in which you want to work.
3. Click anywhere on the SmartVault QuickBooks Toolbar to make it active.
4. Drag and drop or copy and paste the file into the Upload to SmartVault folder.

5. Click Toolbar.

Uploading a File Using the SmartVault Connected Desktop

1. Open the Connected Desktop.
2. Select a client, and select the folder to which you want to print.
3. Drag and drop or copy and paste the file into the Upload to SmartVault folder.
4. Click Connected Desktop.

Other Ways to Use the Upload to SmartVault Folder

You can save a file directly to the Upload to SmartVault folder from a program like Microsoft Excel and that file will upload directly to SmartVault. 

Note: The file will not upload to SmartVault until you close the application in which the file is currently open.
