The SmartVault Drive lets you access your files from SmartVault directly from the File Explorer on your computer. This can save you time when you move files between your desktop and SmartVault.
You can map the SmartVault Drive on Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or later, Microsoft 2008 and 2012 Servers, and Mac OS X.
To use the SmartVault Drive, you must first map it.
On Windows Server 2012 and higher, you will have to enable the Desktop Experience feature in Windows Add/Remove Programs.
Mapping the SmartVault Drive
To access the mapped drive, you must have a user license. Learn more details on licensing.
- From your computer, open the SmartVault Launchpad.
The SmartVault Launchpad desktop shortcut is added when you install the SmartVault desktop software.
- Click SmartVault Drive.
If you don't have the WebClient service running on the machine, you will be prompted to allow SmartVault to start it. SmartVault identifies and precheck the checkboxes for the services needed. Please click OK to allow SmartVault to enable them.
- Enter your email and password.
- The default folder is the Z:\ drive. To select a different one, click the menu drop-down and select another folder. Then click OK. The Drive is now mapped and ready for use.
