SmartVault integrates Intuit's Lacerte or ProSeries tax applications and appears as a print destination in your Intuit product. You must grant SmartVault access to Lacerte and/or ProSeries to connect them. SmartVault has read-only access to your Lacerte or ProSeries client data.
Note
SmartVault supports Intuit Lacerte and ProSeries 2013 and later versions. SmartVault does not support the Intuit ProSeries Basic tax application.
Adding SmartVault as a Print Destination in Lacerte and ProSeries
To connect SmartVault and Lacerte or ProSeries:
- Open the SmartVault Launchpad on your computer. Note: The SmartVault desktop software installs the SmartVault Connected Desktop, SmartVault Launchpad, SmartVault Portal, and the SmartVault Inbox.
- Click Sign in.
- Enter your email address and password and click Sign In.
- As the Launchpad opens, additional windows appear depending on your installed Intuit software. Click Grant to allow SmartVault access to your installed Intuit programs.
Lacerte ProSeries Note
If the "Grant Access" window doesn't appear, please refer to the Troubleshooting section below for guidance
- Your Intuit product is now connected to SmartVault. When you open the Lacerte or ProSeries print window, you will see SmartVault listed as a print destination.
Troubleshooting: No Grant Access Window
In some cases, the Grant Access window might not appear due to several reasons:

Previous Integration: If you've already integrated Lacerte/ProSeries with SmartVault, check this by navigating to User Settings > Extensions. You should see a checkmark next to the Lacerte/ProSeries year you are trying to integrate.

Software Update Needed: Ensure you are using the latest build of the SmartVault desktop software. An update might be required. To update it, click SmartVault Updates.
- Installation Check: Confirm that Lacerte/ProSeries is installed on your machine. The integration cannot proceed without the tax software installed.
