Attach File to Outlook Email not Working for SmartVault Drive


When trying to use the “Attach File” in Outlook and then browsing to a file on SmartVault Drive, the attachment might fail to attach to the email, or Outlook might freeze or crash.


To resolve the issue, follow the steps in this section.

  1. You can drag and drop from the Smartvault Drive explorer window into the email.

  2. Go to internet Explorer > Tools (the Gear icon) > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites
  3. Enter "file://"
  4. Uncheck the box for Require server verification.
  5. Click Add.

  6. Click Close.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Exit Outlook & Internet Explorer.
  9. Reopen Outlook & Internet Explorer.
  10. Retry the Attach File.
  11. Enter Credentials (if prompted).
