To create client engagements in bulk from the Portal:
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Click Clients.
Note
If you have your View Preferences set to "2020 New View", follow the Steps in Client Management.
- Select all clients on a page by clicking the checkbox icon. To select specific clients, click the checkbox or click again to uncheck each client's checkbox icon.
Note
If the page currently displays less than 100 clients at a time, you can change this to 100 clients by going to User Settings > View Preferences > Page Size, selecting 100, and then clicking Save Changes.
- Click the Create new engagements icon.
- Click Tax Engagement and choose one of the following options.
- Click the link below Period and select the year for the engagement you are creating.
- Click the Save engagement icon.
- A window appears to verify that each client receives this new engagement. Click Close.
- If necessary, use the navigational menu to continue to the next 100 clients in your SmartVault account.
- Repeat the process for each additional page of clients.
Steps in Client Management
If you have your View Preferences set to "2020 New View", follow these steps.
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Select Client Management from the left sidebar.
- Select the clients you want to create the engagement to, click the Actions button (ellipses) next to Add Client and choose Add Engagements.
- Click on Select Engagement and choose the type of engagement from the drop-down menu.
- Click on Select Year and choose the year for the engagement you are creating.
- Enable the Select Specific Template checkbox if you want to use a specific template for the engagement. Select a template from the drop-down menu and click Add.
- The Adding Engagements pop-up modal appears, displaying the engagement added to the clients along with the status.
