Updating Client or Company Information in SmartVault

Maintaining accurate client information is crucial for efficient management and organization within SmartVault. Updating a client or company name is very easy in the SmartVault Portal.

To edit client information:

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Select Client Management from the left sidebar.

  3. Locate the client you want to edit and click on it to open the Client Details page.


  4. On the Client Details page, click Edit.


  5. Edit the contact information as needed and click Save Client.


Redistributing the Updated Client

After editing client information, it's essential to redistribute your client vaults. This action will ensure that the updated client is redistributed to the correct client container and that the client list is reordered alphabetically.

To redistribute client vaults:

  1. In the Portal, click View Files and Folders from the left sidebar.

  2. In the View Files and Folders page, click the Actions button Actions_icon.png for the Clients container and select Properties.


  3. Select the Redistribute Clients tab and click Submit Redistribute Request.


  4. Your client Vaults will redistribute automatically to the correct Container.
