Adding a Button or Link to SmartVault from Your Website

ADMIN USER

A customized button or link on your website makes it easy for clients to access your SmartVault portal. Your web designer can create a button tailored to your website's style and color scheme to link to your custom SmartVault URL.

  Note

SmartVault does not provide premade buttons or coding templates, as each website may require a unique design and advanced coding to fit its structure.

Why Use a Redirect Link?

SmartVault requires an external redirect link to maintain security rather than embedding the portal directly into your website. A redirect link ensures:

  • Protection Against Hacks: If your main website is compromised, the SmartVault portal remains secure.
  • Safe Login Credentials: Redirect links prevent unauthorized access to SmartVault usernames or passwords.

Creating a Custom URL for Your SmartVault Portal

  Note

Only Administrators can customize the URL for their SmartVault account.

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
  2. Click the initials at the top right corner of the page and select Settings.
  3. Under Manage Portal Styling, click Custom Branding.
    Settings - Custom Branding.png
  4. Enter a subdomain name for your portal and click Add.
    Settings - Add Subdomain.png
  5. Once the URL is created, it will appear in this format:
    https://[your-subdomain].smartvault.com

  6. Share this custom URL with your web designer so they can link it to your website button or link.

Working with Your Web Designer

Your web designer can:

  1. Design a visually appealing button or hyperlink that fits your website's layout.
  2. Integrate the custom SmartVault URL into the button to redirect users securely to your portal.

Following these steps ensures seamless, secure, and professional integration of SmartVault into your website.
