Downloading your Files as a Guest User

As a Guest User, you can view and download files and folders your service provider shares with you.

  Note

In the example below, we are downloading a 2022 Tax Return sent by your accountant.

Downloading Files

To download files from a folder:

If you have forgotten your password, click Can't sign in? and follow the instructions to reset your password.

  1. Go to my.smartvault.com.
  2. Enter the email and password you used to activate your guest account and click Sign In.

  3. Select View Files and Folders from the navigation sidebar.

  4. Click the folder with your name or company name. This is called a Vault.

  5. Click the folder with the document(s) you want to download.

  6. Select the document(s) and click Download.

Previewing and Downloading Documents

To preview the document before downloading:

  1. Enter your email and password to sign in to the SmartVault portal.
  2. Select View Files and Folders from the navigation sidebar.
  3. Go to the folder containing the document you want to preview. Click the document to open a preview.

  4. Click Download to download the tax return to your computer or click Back to close the preview page.
