Additional Details

All requests in a bulk send are now created as expected

When sending the first bulk request, one request in the batch would not be created as expected. This has been resolved, and all requests in a bulk send are now created correctly.

Duplicate SmartRequests no longer appear in the Doc Request Dashboard

In some instances, duplicate SmartRequests were appearing in the Doc Request Dashboard. Clients were not actually receiving duplicate SmartRequests. This has been resolved, and SmartRequests now appear correctly in the Doc Request Dashboard.

Doc Request tabs now filter correctly by request status

Within Doc Request, requests can be sorted by status using the Request Status column across the All Docs, Request Docs, and SmartRequests tabs. Previously, when multiple requests shared a Sent status but had different dates, they were sorted randomly rather than chronologically. This has been resolved. Requests are now sorted by request status as the primary value and date sent as the secondary value, ensuring a consistent and predictable sort order.

Sorting by Request Status

Sorting by Request Status: Previously, requests with the same status were sorted in a random order regardless of date, as shown above.

Usage Statistics Page now displays the correct ticket count

Previously, the number of tickets used to send a SmartRequest shown on the Usage Statistics tab did not always reflect the correct number. This has been resolved.

Usage Statistics displayed incorrect ticket count

Usage Statistics: The Usage Statistics tab previously displayed an incorrect ticket count. This has been resolved.

Dependent name now displays correctly on the SmartRequest view page

When a client completed a SmartRequest on behalf of a dependent, the client's name was incorrectly displayed on the SmartRequest view page instead of the dependent's name. This has been resolved, and the dependent's name now displays correctly.

Clearer error message when generating a workpaper for a deleted SmartRequest

When attempting to generate a workpaper for a SmartRequest that has already been deleted, an error message now appears notifying you that the associated SmartRequest no longer exists.

Special characters in SmartRequestAI templates

Previously, special characters could be entered into custom questions on the SmartRequestAI template but would cause the request to fail silently, with no notification. Special characters are no longer supported. If used, you will now receive an error message indicating that the template cannot be saved.

Additional dependent information on the workpaper now displays correctly

When a taxpayer has more than two dependents, the additional dependent information appears at the bottom of the workpaper rather than in the dedicated dependent section. Previously, this caused some questions and answers related to those additional dependents to display incorrectly. This has been resolved. While additional dependents will continue to appear at the bottom of the workpaper, all associated questions and answers now render correctly.

Usage statistics now visible to all assigned employees

Usage statistics track how often SmartRequestAI is being used across the platform. These are now accessible to all assigned employees.

Manual document tagging in the web interface

You can now manually tag documents within the web interface. This is particularly useful for ensuring SmartRequestAI extracts data from the correct 1040. For more on how manual tagging works, read Manually Tagging Documents in SmartVault or watch the Manually Tagging Documents video.

Customize the SmartRequest submission confirmation email

You can now edit two types of confirmation emails: SmartRequest Firm User Confirmation Emails and SmartRequest Client User Information Emails. Follow the steps below to customize either email type.
