Add a DocuSign Subscription to your SmartVault account to let your clients electronically sign and return documents from almost anywhere in the world, using practically any device.
DocuSign Subscription is available for all SmartVault customers on annual plans. Upgrade to an annual plan on your Billing page or contact our Support Team to assist you. DocuSign Subscription does not cover DocuSign ID Check (KBAs). You must purchase KBAs as add-ons.

Billing Options
SmartVault offers DocuSign two billing options:
- Pay-as-you-go—Purchase and manage an inventory of envelopes users can send to get client eSignatures.
- Subscription—There’s no inventory to manage when you add DocuSign to your annual subscription. Each user can send up to 100 envelopes per year.
Envelope Allowance
SmartVault annual plans with DocuSign include an allowance of 100 sent envelopes per user per year under our Reasonable Use Policy. For example, the combined annual allowance of an account with five users would be 500 envelopes*. You can track your DocuSign envelope usage in your account settings.
This allowance is consistent with the Reasonable Use Policy applied across the DocuSign user base and is sufficient for most businesses.
*SmartVault will not prevent your users from sending eSignature envelopes past your envelope allowance limit. SmartVault reserves the right to adjust the price of the plan for usage over the 100-envelope-per-year limit across multiple months. You will pay an adjusted price at plan renewal.
Enabling Your DocuSign Subscription
You must be an Account Administrator and sign up for a new DocuSign account with SmartVault to add a DocuSign Subscription to your SmartVault billing system.
To enable your DocuSign subscription, identify the Billing System for your account. Then follow the corresponding steps below.
To add a DocuSign Subscription to your account in the legacy billing system:
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Click the initials at the top right corner of the page and select Settings.
- Go to Account Settings>Manage Billing and Payment, then click Billing.
- Confirm your Billing Cycle is Annual in the Update Plan section. Please contact your SmartVault salesperson to purchase the DocuSign Subscription if your account does not show a Billing Cycle.
- Go to Item>Enable DocuSign Subscription and select Quantity.
- SmartVault automatically updates the DocuSign as a Subscription Users quantity. The quantity reflects the total number of users on the account.
Note
Your account administrator can update users.
- Click Save to finish adding a DocuSign Subscription to your account.
To add a DocuSign Subscription to your account in the new billing system:
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal.
- Click the initials at the top right corner of the page and select Settings.
- Go to Account Settings>Manage Billing and Payment, then click Billing.
- In SmartVault Manage Subscriptions, click the box containing your subscription information (account type, number of accounts, subscription price, guest user limit, and storage limit).
- In Subscription Details, click Edit Subscription.
- In Edit Subscription Details, click Add Addons.
- In Add Addons, select DocuSign Subscription and click Add(1).
- SmartVault automatically updates the DocuSign Subscription Users quantity based on the total number of users on the account. Note: your account administrator can update users.
- Click Update Subscription to complete adding a DocuSign Subscription to your account.
