Sending Tax Returns to SmartVault from ProSeries

When you choose SmartVault as your printer in ProSeries, copies of your clients’ tax returns and other documents are sent to SmartVault as PDF files and stored in their respective folders.

Sending a Tax Return to SmartVault

To print (send) a tax return to SmartVault from ProSeries:

  1. In Lacerte, select the client tax return to print.
  2. Click Print and select Tax Return.
  3. In the Print Center, go to Print Selected Returns>Print to: and select SmartVault.
  4. Select the copy types you want to print to SmartVault, then click Print.
  5. Select your SmartVault account, and then click OK. SmartVault sends an email notification when uploads are complete.
  6. When printing is complete, the files are in your client vaults. Go to Clients>[client name]>Tax Files>TYXX>Tax Returns.

Sending Multiple Tax Returns to SmartVault

SmartVault recommends printing 50-100 tax returns at a time when printing tax returns for multiple clients.

To print (send) multiple clients’ tax returns or documents to SmartVault from ProSeries:

  1. In ProSeries, select the clients whose tax returns you want in SmartVault. Selected clients are highlighted in gray.

  2. Click Print in the toolbar.

  3. In the Print Center, go to Print Selected Returns>Print to: and select SmartVault.

  5. Select your SmartVault account, then click OK. SmartVault sends an email notification when uploads are complete.

  6. When printing is complete, the files are in your client vaults. Go to Clients>[client name]>Tax Files>TYXX>Tax Returns.
