Outlook Plugin Installation Error: Unable to install an application because an application with the same identity is already installed

ADMIN USER

You receive the following message when trying to install the Outlook Plugin:

 

"Unable to install an application because an application with the same identity is already installed"

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue

 

Resolution

  1. Close out of Outlook and the error message.
  2. Open File Explorer and navigate to "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0" where username is your user profile.
  3. Delete all the folders and files in this directory.
  4. Try to install the plugin again.
