With SmartVault, backing up your documents on the Standard plan is easy. By setting up and using SmartVault Drive, you can create a secure backup of your important files directly from your computer.
Mapping Your SmartVault Drive Using the Launchpad
To map SmartVault Drive to your computer’s File Explorer or Finder via the Launchpad:

You must have a user license to access Mapped Drive.

Open the SmartVault Launchpad on your computer.
- If you've installed the SmartVault Connected Desktop, a SmartVault Launchpad shortcut should already be on your desktop.

Click SmartVault Drive in the Launchpad.
- In the Map SmartVault Drive - SmartVault window, click Correct.
- Allow the app to make changes to your computer if prompted.

In SmartVault WebDAV, SmartVault automatically preselects the necessary checkboxes for the services you need. Click OK to allow SmartVault to enable them.
- Choose a drive letter: The default letter is Z: but you can select a different letter from the dropdown list.

Enter your SmartVault email and password when prompted. Click OK to finish mapping the drive.
Mapping your SmartVault Drive in File Explorer
To map SmartVault Drive in File Explorer:
- Open File Explorer from the taskbar, Start menu, or by pressing the Windows logo key + E.

Select This PC from the left pane. Then, on the Computer tab, select Map network drive.
- Choose a drive letter: The default letter for the drive is Z:, but you can pick any available letter from the dropdown list.

In the Folder box, type https://docs.smartvault.com.
- Reconnect at sign-in: If you want to connect to this drive automatically whenever you log on to your PC, select the Reconnect at sign-in checkbox. Remember, you’ll need to launch the drive to connect.
- Select Connect using different credentials.
- Enter your SmartVault credentials (email and password), then click OK to finish mapping.
- Access your files: A File Explorer window will open, showing the accounts you can access in SmartVault.
Note
You should make a copy of your SmartVault drive and save it to an alternate location on your computer (using a different driver).
